Deborah Edwards is the Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of SteelPoint in Matthews, NC. She oversees a wide range of operations spanning both front and mid-office functions encompassing human resources, risk management, legal, compliance, safety, and facilities management.

Career Journey and Civic Engagement

Prior to joining SteelPoint in January 2017, Deborah was Deputy General Counsel and Managing Director – Corporate Security at Piedmont Natural Gas Company. Her career also included roles such as Associate General Counsel for Duke Energy Corporation and Senior Commercial Counsel in North America for Continental Tire. Beyond her prolific career, Deborah has also been civic minded and an active participant in community affairs. Recognitions and Awards

Deborah also received the 2022 Pam O’Toole Trusdale Woman in Manufacturing Award. This award is aptly named after NATM’s long-time Executive Director, that seeks to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of women in the industry, an often-untapped talent pool. Alongside this award, she was also recognized as one of the 50 Most Influential Women of 2024 by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly and The Mecklenburg Times. Moreover, she was also named as a Leadership In Action Award Honoree by Linwick & Associates, LLC. for the Career Mastered National Women’s History Leadership Awards Class of 2024.

Active Involvement in NATM

In addition to her diverse array of responsibilities and civic involvement, Deborah has actively participated in various capacities within NATM. Recently elected to the NATM Board of Directors for the 2024-2027 term, she stands as one of the pioneering women to join the board’s ranks. She also serves on the NATM Government Affairs Committee as an incredible advocate for the industry in meetings with Congressional members as part of NATM’s Regulatory Roundup. Deborah also serves on the NATM Finance Committee, overseeing the annual budget, investments, offering recommendations for revenue adjustments, and reviews. Deborah’s extensive professional background and knack for understanding complex issues have earned her widespread respect among her peers and legislators alike.

"Deborah has been an excellent advocate for the industry over the years serving on many committees. She has been an incredible addition to the Board since joining in February, and I am honored to serve with such an accomplished, dedicated person," said Alex Stowe, Executive Director at NATM.
