Organization Overview

Founded in 1985 by Keith Brown, Trailtech began as Custom Built Ag. Industries Ltd., importing straight-cut headers and manufacturing header transports to reduce crop loss and improve equipment logistics. Operating from a repurposed barn near Bateman, Saskatchewan, the company quickly expanded its product line to include swather, flat deck, and bale transports, growing through close responsiveness to farmers’ needs across Western Canada.

By the late 1980s, Trailtech evolved into a standalone manufacturing operation, relocating to Gravelbourg and steadily expanding its facilities and workforce through the 1990s. Strategic acquisitions broadened its offerings, and despite a major fire in 2000, the company rebuilt and strengthened its operations with a modern final assembly facility by 2003. Leadership gradually transitioned from founder-led management to an experienced internal team as the company navigated competitive and economic challenges.

Today, Trailtech is a respected Canadian manufacturer of durable medium- and heavy-duty flat deck trailers, agricultural transports, and commercial truck decks. Known for reliability, safety, longevity, and strong resale value, Trailtech remains proudly rooted in its Canadian and small-town origins. Entering its fourth decade, the company continues to evolve, with a strategic reorganization initiated in late 2024 to support generational leadership transition and long-term growth.
