Taskmaster Components Introduces New UL-HD 17.5” Steel Trailer Wheel

New 17.5” single flow formed wheel is 12-16% lighter than industry standard and addresses common fitment challenges in traditional 17.5” wheel designs.

Mount Pleasant, Texas, Oct. 27, 2026 — Taskmaster announces the impending launch of its new ULHD 17.5” single flow formed trailer wheel, another innovative design from Taskmaster’s engineering team that delivers meaningful weight savings and improved fitment.

Weighing in at 44 pounds, 12-16% less than the industry standard, the Taskmaster UL-HD reduces unsprung weight without compromising strength. Taskmaster achieved this weight reduction by utilizing high grade steel, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), which evaluates stress distribution throughout the wheel to identify areas where material could be reduced and where strength is most critical, and flow forming technology which compresses and strengthens material in key areas. These changes reduce wasted material while maintaining strength and performance. In addition to weight savings, Taskmaster also eliminated common fitment issues by increasing the size of the hub seating surface and changing the rim well accommodate different hub designs.
