Boardroom Bulletin: Planning Today for Tomorrow's Industry
Serving on the NATM Board means helping guide the future of our Association, and our recent Strategic Planning Retreat was an important milestone to do just that. It was a valuable opportunity for the Board and staff to come together, build on months of research and member feedback, align our perspectives, and continue shaping NATM's path forward. I left feeling excited about where NATM is headed.
We reflected on the progress we've made and it was clear that our Association has accomplished a great deal. Together, we've strengthened advocacy efforts, expanded educational resources, grown industry engagement, and continued advancing trailer safety through the NATM Compliance Verification Program and Decal. Because of all of this, we continued to listen to valuable feedback from members, and challenged ourselves to think about how NATM can continue delivering meaningful value to the industry.
Of course, other meaningful conversations happened outside the meeting room as well. Whether we were touring the U-Haul facility, attending an Arizona Diamondbacks game, or spending time together between sessions, those shared experiences strengthened relationships and sparked ideas that complemented our work.
What stood out most to me was the commitment around the table. Although each Board member brings a unique perspective, we all share the same goal: ensuring NATM remains the trusted voice of the light- and medium-duty trailer industry while continuing to evolve alongside the needs of our members.
Strategic planning isn't a one-time event, it's an ongoing commitment. This retreat was an opportunity to build on the momentum we've created, align on our priorities, and continue the work of positioning NATM and our industry for long-term success. I'm excited for what the future holds and grateful to be part of the journey.
